Boca Raton's prestigious technology sector recently expanded with the arrival of worldwide career search firm CareerMetaSearch.com.
Previously based out of Lake Worth, the company maintains an international on-line job board. Looking to further extend operations, CareerMetaSearch.com's headquarters relocated to larger office space within Boca's Technology Business Incubator adjacent to Florida Atlantic University.
According to Jason Gorham, CEO and founder of CareerMetaSearch.com, the not-for-profit Incubator's reputation for fostering the growth of technology-based businesses played a key role in the decision to move to Boca......Continue
Job Search Blogs were developed to give job seekers an alternative way to showcase their talents and skills outside a resume, and to provide employers insights about the candidate. It was first launched on April 2004.
Why did you come up with this service?
Actually, I was reading a Money Magazine article and it talked about people forming websites and passing leads to one another to help them find jobs. Mark Carey, the webmaster for Job Search Blogs, came up with the idea to leverage the power of blogs to enhance the job search and recruiting experience. I thought it would be a perfect fit for us. Mark is an experienced blogger and offers web presence management and search engine optimization services through his company, Mark Carey Consulting......Continue
In April, CEO Jason Gorham also launched JobSearchBlogs.com, a collection of blogs from people looking for work. Within a month, he'll launch 15 to 25 more blog sites for job seekers in specific industries, such as pharmaceuticals or accounting. He's betting sponsors will cross between the sites......Continue
Sharkstrike Recruitment is a consulting firm delivering a complete range of online and offline recruitment and recruiting services to help companies enhance their total recruiting process.
We are a privately held company that has over 10 years in the recruiting industry and headquartered in Lake Worth, Florida. We combine the best people, processes, and technology to achieve excellent results consistently.
Our innovative recruitment solutions and online imperatives represent recruiting technology at its best. We believe in partnering with our clients to maximize your recruiting efforts while minimizing your recruiting budget.
We have leveraged our considerable business experience to develop a tried and tested methodology that ensures clients follow a low risk path to success.
We give you the knowledge of recruiting agencies without having to hiring one.
As a passive recruiting solution company, we are always learning changing, adapting, and understanding the passive candidate and what they don’t apply to. One thing that we have realized is that passive candidates may have an interest in your job, however, if it’s not compelling enough they won’t apply to it. Let me paint a scenario for you.
One of our clients is looking for a .NET developer in Boston. We create the ad, extract the keywords, and start advertising in the search engines. To date, the client has received over 100 clicks, with only one person applying. One of the reasons we suspect they didn’t apply was the fact that maybe the job description didn’t really excite them. The job description lists all the skills, what, who, where, and when, but one of the major things the job lacks is the value proposition. The value proposition is why someone would apply to the job. People look and leave jobs for various reasons, however, these reasons aren’t available to you and you will never have the opportunity to ask them these questions. So you have one shot and one shot only to capture this person. The value proposition should be chock full of why you and your co-workers work for the company. Maybe you work for the company because the building is right beside the train station, Maybe it’s because they offer day care, or maybe you just like the coffee that the company provides. Whatever it may be capture it and say it to that candidate. Everyone, and I mean everyone just puts in great benefits, high pay etc. Let’s break down the benefits. List benefits out if they are great. If your company matches 401k and if you offer gym membership, anything that will make you unique and make your company stand out. If you don’t understand these things, maybe take a survey from your current employees to understand this. As the war for talent heats up, you need to grow, change, and evolve with it, if you don’t, you’re dead.
One other thing, the only reason people may not be applying to the job may not just be because of the job posting. You have to remember that the passive candidate is a different animal, and needs to be treated as so. Another thing we will be doing to hunt, track, and capture this animal is job saving, and some other little tricks. In conclusion, starting creating Value Propositions instead of Job Postings and watch the candidates start flowing in.
I was speaking with a potential client and asked them how they heard about us and come to find out we were in a Human Capital - Bernard Hodes presentation. The presentation speaks about pushing jobs to search engines, classifieds sites and dealing with the demise of America's job bank. I found it pretty interesting (Even though they didn't explain our product correctly and misspelled our name). The real reason I was happy to see it was to get the message out to the community and having companies think outside of the box to recruit talent. They summarize pretty well what we do in utilizing adwords in that….
What happens when you measure your entire ad campaign like this?
• The cost for sourcing a potential candidate is known.
• Optimize your advertising plan.
• Shift dollars to other media for more effective candidate sourcing.
If you get a chance take a look at the presentation here:

I noticed that my good friend Shally is offering a linkedin webinar which looks pretty intriguing to me on a couple of fronts. I have been reading a book called the “The Little Red Book of selling” written by Jeff Gitomer. My new outsourcing neighbor from Sumpraxis who is in the technology incubator with me, gave me this book to enhance my people skills, to better articulate our products, and to get a better close ratio. The book discusses a lot of selling skills however, a majority of it speaks about networking, personal brand, and people skills. The personal branding excites me the most because some of these principles I have already been employing for a couple of years (one in which your reading right now) and some I've known of but didn’t take it to the next level. Take for instance my name. I have just registered my name domain (Jason Gorham) and will be working to get the new blog up this week. The reason for this is two fold. One is that I have a lot to say and a lot happening with the company, our vision, my vision and recruiting in general and I would like a format to do this in. I was doing this on the old recruitingcareer.com however it didn’t fit what the company was doing as well as I wanted to reinforce my personal brand. The other is social networking. As I mentioned in a previous blog my good friend Dave Mendoza from Freescale Semiconductor has been assisting me with my Linkedin profile, (email my ere account if you would like to link to me) increasing my connections and promoting my personal brand. Dave as well as Shally are guru’s in their personal branding and networking. I can’t remember a week I didn’t get an email about a webinar, speaking engagement or newsletter regarding his use and technique. These are only a few ways to brand yourself, stay tuned as I launch my new site and give you some more tips on how to self-brand yourself.
Careermetasearch.com would like to thank the following clients that have joined us.

Careermetasearch.com is at the forefront of developing innovative technologies by recruiters for recruiters. We optimize your online employment brand and more importantly, we enhance job posting traffic to your core audience of quality semi-active and passive candidates.
Our Value-Added Difference: Push Posting™ is a proprietary process that places job postings on sites where top quality candidates in your industry spend time on the web. Utilizing pay-per-click and/or sponsored listings, Push Posting™ pushes jobs out to the most desirable candidates. This is accomplished through creating custom job marketing solutions tapping the passive candidate market.

Unlike outdated job board formats we present quantifiable results: clients have direct metrics data to review keyword impressions, clicks, click through rate and more importantly conversions and/or how many people applied to a job as well as the keyword that best attracted response from your target talent pool. The value-added benefits are unlike any other recruitment tool in the industry.
Simply put, we have developed an ideal venue to enhance custom creation, insertion and monitoring of marketing for your jobs. With an emphasis on precision targeting, we do it differently, with we do it better.
