Linkedin Jobs Sound Off

Recently I have been getting a lot of requests from people within my Linkedin network about jobs that they are trying to fill. Some of the most recent requests include:

Senior software engineer architect
Vice president compensation & benefits
Controller & java engineers????

Let me begin by saying I like Linkedin, I think it’s a very powerful tool to network with other people, complete competitor research and find invaluable data about companies and job titles. The one thing I do not understand is the Linked Jobs and why I keep getting these requests. First and foremost when you post a job on the internet you have joined the world of internet marketing, and as we all know marketing only works when you target the right audience. Companies spend billions of dollars on creative and new ways to market themselves and drill down market to reach that right consumer at the right time. Have you ever wondered how a company knew you were going to buy a car or what your type of furniture you prefer? This isn’t done by guess work it’s done by utilizing datawarehouses to understand your buying behaviors, so thus they aren’t at a sporting event trying to sell you non-sporting items.

So getting back to the Linkedin jobs. When you are creating a job and sending it to your network make sure that the people that you are sending the specific job to are in the know or run in circles with the people that you are trying to find. As my position and background lends itself to recruiting than feel free to send me recruiting jobs, however as mentioned above I don’t know any software architects and or java engineers and my networks network typically isn’t going to know these people either. It seems that the product is a shotgun blast, whereas you could walk outside your office with a megaphone and shout these positions out to see if anyone walking by might know someone. The name of the site is Linkedin so make sure that you are linking in with the correct people and providing them useful data/jobs so that they can be of assistance to you.

Vayan Marketing Group Joins CareerMetaSearch.com

I had the opportunity to meet with the HR manager from Vayan Marketing Group at a local EMA meeting about two weeks ago. I was standing inline waiting to get my token food from the buffet and a woman turns around and says to me your familiar to me. So I played along and said okay, I have been recruiting down here for years, or was it the cover of GQ you saw me on.... She said no your name I know your name, so I then said oh I blog on ere and she said that's it I've read your blogs. This caught me off guard as no one ever tells me they read my blogs let alone recognize my name so that was interesting in itself.

So as a result of the meeting and my introduction to CareerMetaSearch.com she came on the site created a new account and posted a job which she then purchased our Push Posting. I called and thanked her for the purchase and she stated to me which I typically state to other new customers, “well for $295.00 dollars it much better technology and it’s a lot cheaper than monster.” I was blown away for once a customer that understood our technology and the price. So for this I say welcome to Vayan Marketing Group and their job posting. They are looking for a local candidate in South Florida for an Senior Interactive Account Manager if you know anyone.
